Today we looked at the day care associated with the University of Leiden (EDIT: took out the link of the day care, for potential anti-stalker reasons). We took a tour of their facilities and saw the children playing outside in the courtyard. The location is very good; it even has a view of the canal. Jesse can drop "Cloud" off on his way to work in the stroller, and they even have room for stroller storage during the day.
We saw our first pull-out staircase: pull open a cupboard in the diapering room, and inside is a child-sized staircase to climb up to the changing mat. The mat itself can even move up and down with the push of a button, to accommodate adults of different heights. The whole facility is very child-friendly - heated floors for baby crawlers and low windows and displays for the children to see. It also seemed very secure. Each family gets its own access code to enter the building. All the play areas are fully enclosed but still outdoors. The staff can monitor the front door via screens inside the play area.
We liked it quite a bit, and we signed the papers to start in November there with "Cloud."
