DIY Bibs

A completed bib!
I made 4 bibs recently, using left over cloth and terry.  The terry was left over from making burp cloths.  I used the pattern from here.  The only thing I had trouble with is having to DRAW it onto the fabric before cutting, instead of pinning it then cutting.  As well, the two pieces of fabric were pinned together first, before drawing, so that it is sewn where the lines are drawn.  I personally found that a bit awkward.  I would recommend printing out the pattern, then redraw it with a seam allowance so that the pattern can be pinned down and then cut.

Flannel on top of cloth, right sides together.  The outline is where it was sewn together.  Though the pattern called for the turning inside out gap to be on the side, I decided to put it at the bottom of the bib where the line tends to be straighter.

After sewing, cut out the shape and make snips around the whole thing to make it look nice after it's turned inside out.  Otherwise it may not lie as flat when turned around because of bunching.

Turned inside out, so that the rides sides are showing.  The left one is ironed, before having the edges top-stitched to look nice and to close the gap from turning inside out.  Ironed looks nicer, though more time consuming!

My first time adding snaps!  The bib was topstitched before the snaps were added.
